As a G&L Management Consultant, your role would focus your industry or discipline expertise on specific client challenges, working collaboratively with our clients as a project team member.

You would be responsible for specific elements of client engagement within a larger team, delivering projects for a variety of organisations from start-ups to recognizable pharmaceutical/healthcare organizations. 

G&L works with and is allied to, some of the biggest companies across a variety of industry sectors and you will play a key role in supporting them to achieve great outcomes.

We are looking for a qualified Business Consultant to help our clients analyse and improve their operations and support their businesses by providing intelligent and practical guidance.

The Role

This is a prominent, client-facing role.

The successful applicant will be working closely with stakeholders, understanding their business challenges, developing strategies to address them, and using diplomacy and influencing skills to bring innovative plans to life.

Their goal will be to contribute to our clients’ long-lasting success, through successful execution, so that G&L’s Advisory Practice’s reputation continues to expand along with our clientele.

Duties will include: 

  • Meeting with assigned clients and performing an initial assessment of a business challenge. 
  • Facilitating discussions to elaborate on potential improvement areas.
  • Collecting information about the client’s business through a variety of analytical methods.
  • Analysing and interpreting a wide variety of data to unearth weaknesses and problems, and comprehend the potential causes. 
  • Performing quantitative and qualitative analysis to drive the proposed solution. 
  • Utilising quantitative research methodologies, including data mining, to create financial models and perform valuation analysis. 
  • Performing market research and collecting business intelligence.
  • Defining the problem concisely and hypothesising the proposed solution in language and presentation style that suits the specific client context. 
  • Formulating recommendations with ample justification and presenting solutions which are bespoke to our client’s wishes, capabilities and limitations.
  • Developing detailed business plans to drive small or radical changes.
  • Assisting the client in implementing the plan and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Providing guidance for any occurring problems and issues.
  • Within a Project Management Office, drive governance standards portfolio-wide, including tracking, monitoring and updating the status of project and program work; ensuring program-level dependencies are tracked and managed; supporting project planning, scope management, forecasting, budget/financial management, resource and change management activities across the program.
  • Creating PMO packs (including action tracking, workstream updates, key achievements, upcoming activities, milestones, budgets, metrics and templates); drafting new and improved project management office policies and processes.
  • Maintaining a keen awareness of all changes in the industry and how they may affect existing and potential clients.
  • Assisting in the production of white papers and internally produced research on relevant changes occurring in the business sphere and general economy.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. BSc/BA in business administration or relevant field; MSc/MA or equivalent in a specialized business field will be an advantage.
  • Minimum of five years of related experience in an appropriate business specialization, and evidence of business development, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Project management qualification preferred (e.g. Agile/CSM, Prince2, PMQ, APM, Six Sigma).
  • Expert proficiency in MS Office; Familiarity with a wide selection of business management software (CRM, ERP etc.), and databases.
  • Knowledge of diverse business disciplines such as IT, Marketing, HR etc.
  • Ability to work independently, with considerable autonomy.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • A curious mind with excellent data collection and analytical acumen.
  • A solid team player, who’s also an independent thinker; dedicated to contributing toward the outcome desired by the team.
  • Deadline-driven, organized and able to multitask, with an aptitude for creative problem-solving, and a willingness to go the extra mile to ensure client success.
